Egis proudly concluded support for the Ubud–Tegallalang–Payangan (Ulapan) Urban Mobility Plan (UMP) on December 16, 2024. This initiative was undertaken through the KIAT - Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure, funded by the Australian Government. A handover ceremony in Denpasar, Bali, was attended by the Government of Bali Province, Gianyar Regency, Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas Republic of Indonesia, and the Australian Consul-General in Bali.
Building on Bappenas' 2021 Whitepaper: Integrated Masterplan for the Ulapan Tourism Area, this project marks a step towards operationalizing investments in sustainable urban mobility.
Over 17 months, Egis led the development of this study in coordination with all mobility stakeholders through household surveys, traffic analyses, focus group discussions, and consultations with the Government of Indonesia. The Ulapan mobility plan comprises 2 Pre-Feasibility Studies covering electric bus lines within Ulapan area and connections to Ngurah Rai Airport, aiming to boost Bali’s transport electrification goals by 2040.
The completion of this project reflects Egis’ leadership in mobility planning in Southeast Asia and Indonesia. Egis is strategically equipped to address complex mobility challenges, offering expert solutions in surveying, modeling, planning, economic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mass transit engineering to drive sustainable mobility in the region.
