Egis successfully held the official Kick-Off Meeting for the Transport Planning Reform (TPR) Preparatory Activity on 4 Nov in Jakarta, followed by a subnational kick-off meeting on 19 Nov in Palembang, the site of the pilot study. This project is part of the Advancing Transport and Logistics Accessibility Services (ATLAS) initiative, funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
The event gathered representatives from the MCC, MCA-Indonesia II, key Indonesian ministries, local leaders from South Sumatra and Palembang, and other development partners. Led by Eliot B SIMPSON, Egis’ team outlined the project’s dual focus on Urban and Regional Transport Planning Reform, targeting the Metropolitan Palembang Area and three provinces in Southern Sumatra. The aim is to implement integrated multimodal transportation solutions tailored to the region's unique challenges.
Recognizing that stakeholder engagement is crucial for success, the meetings in Jakarta and Palembang emphasized building strong ties with local stakeholders, ensuring the project aligns with regional priorities and fosters ongoing relationships with communities.
This kick-off meeting marks an important starting point, opening opportunities for collaboration and strategy refinement with active participation from ministries and local representatives. Egis is proud to lead this transformative project, contributing to sustainable development in Indonesia. Building on successes in Medan, Bandung, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Nusantara, the Egis transport planning team continues to deliver innovative solutions across the archipelago.
