Laurent Germain, Egis Global CEO, visited Egis in Mexico with great news for the region. During his speech he announced an investment of US$1 billion in North America over the next four years, with 80% of these resources earmarked for Mexico, the United States and Canada. This investment will focus on infrastructure and sustainable mobility projects, promoting economic growth and innovation in the sector.
Mexico is a strategic market for the Group due to both its geographic location and its engineering talent. Egis in Mexico currently has 1,200 employees in the country and an annual turnover of 55 million euros, with the goal of doubling its presence in the coming years. By 2040, a population growth of 20 million people is projected for Mexico, which will increase the demand for modern and efficient infrastructure.
The region also reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability through its #ImpactTheFuture initiative, integrating the ECO-DESIGN methodology into its projects to minimize environmental impact and continue building can towards a future that has a positive impact. In addition, the Group has implemented financial credits linked to compliance with environmental KPIs, encouraging the reduction of carbon emissions. Currently, more than 4,000 employees have been trained in green design techniques to reduce the environmental impact of infrastructure projects.
The growth of the U.S. economy also represents an opportunity for infrastructure development in Mexico, strengthening commercial ties between the two countries. Egis plans to continue betting on local engineering talent, guaranteeing the efficient development of each of its projects and consolidating its position as a leader in consulting, aviation, infrastructure and mobility in the country.
