Egis will continue to deploy its expertise throughout 2026 on one of Mexico’s most significant urban mobility programmes: the upgrade of Mexico City Metro’s Line 1. The project is a major step in strengthening the network’s infrastructure and enhancing daily journeys for millions of passengers.
Running from Pantitlán to Observatorio and serving 20 stations, Line 1 is one of the city’s essential transport corridors and a cornerstone of mobility across the capital.
Across the entire system, the Metro carries around five million passengers every day, making it the primary mode of transport for Mexico City residents.
Egis’ involvement is built on a trusted and effective partnership with MEXIRRC. Day by day, the teams are advancing Engineering Review and Integration activities on the main line as well as in workshops and depots.
Egis is contributing technical expertise across:
- Track
- Surveying
- Signalling (CBTC)
- MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing)
- SCADA
- RAMS
- Operations
This milestone highlights the dedication and energy of the Group’s teams, who continue to deliver projects that reshape mobility in Mexico.
