With this new acquisition, Egis strengthens its expertise in maritime engineering and reaffirms its commitment to adapting to global warming.
Becoming a leader in maritime climate issues
Egis has developed a strong expertise in coastal studies, covering risk management issues associated with both marine submersion and coastal erosion. Our teams also design coastal protection structures and extend their expertise to the implementation of nature-based solutions.
With the acquisition of Casagec Ingénierie, Egis has chosen to leverage its growth in the marine business and rapidly position itself as the French leader in this segment. With its sights set on becoming an international benchmark in climate issues, the Group also intends to put this new expertise to work in port engineering and in adapting coastal towns around the world.
Casagec, a leader in the coastal observation market
Founded in 2011, Casagec Ingénierie is a private leader in the coastal monitoring market. With four sites in France (Anglet, La Rochelle, Quimper, Sainte-Marie de La Réunion), the company has been a key player in integrated coastal management since 2013. For more than 10 years, the company has also been involved in pre- and post-construction environmental monitoring of coastal development projects.
An acquisition in line with Egis' climate change commitments
Egis has made ambitious commitments in the fight against climate change, all of which will be furthered by this acquisition. The acquisition will enable the Group to take active steps to protect and enhance the resilience of coastal areas and their infrastructure - in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 - and to effectively manage numerous environmental risks (impact of development projects, dredging activities, plastic pollution, oil spills, Sargasso stranding, etc.).
Beyond the development of our traditional coastal business, this acquisition is fully in line with the Group's development strategy in the energy sector. It will create a visible maritime axis for Egis, enabling us to meet the challenges of marine energy development (offshore wind, waves, tides, etc.).
