Egis in Romania has been appointed by Compania Națională Aeroporturi Bucuresti S.A. (Bucharest Airports National Company) to provide consultancy support with accessing funds for ongoing implementation of the Strategic Airport Infrastructure Development Program at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport.
The scope of the nine-month consultancy contract is to review and update previous strategic analyses to enable optimum implementation of the Airport Infrastructure Development Program (PSDIA) approved by the government. The Strategic Airport Infrastructure Development Program focuses on creating and improving access to the airport facilities, increasing infrastructure capacity for both passengers and cargo and post processing, as well as on upgrading ancillary air transport operations at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport.
Henri Coanda Airport is Romania’s largest airport, serving 67 external and 9 domestic destinations. As a national strategic objective, this international airport needs to be prepared for the future, from both capacity and security perspectives. The program aims to improve the quality of airport services across the board, with the goal of reaching IATA “Optimum” level. The improvements proposed will benefit more than just the airport itself, they will also create opportunities for other businesses as well as contributing to international and European security.
Egis’ role is to provide updated analysis and a coherent strategy to enable financing and implementation of the actions proposed under the PSDIA. Tasks will include passenger and cargo traffic forecasts, airport capacity planning, and operational and commercial strategies. A key element will be a detailed analysis of the financing sources and planning needed to achieve the project goals. The project will also need to be assessed from an environmental viewpoint in line with EU Directives.
